She used to like the rainy days
That came when she was young
She’d sit next to her window and
She’d listen to the storm
The pitter-patter sound of rain
Would soothe her anxious heart
But as she grew, the rainy days
Were not as far apart
But still she loved the rainy days
When driving down the road
In heavy storm or light downpour
She always felt at home
And when an overpass would come
And silence swiftly fell
The peace of that small moment, it
Would help her calm the swell
She used to like the rainy days
That came when she was young
She’d sit next to her window and
She’d listen to the storm
The pitter-patter sound of rain
Would soothe her anxious heart
But as she grew, the rainy days
Were never far apart
But still she loved the rainy days
When sun was shining through
She’d run outside without her shoes
And dance a time or two
And then the rain would slowly take
Her momentary stage
She’d walk inside and dry her feet,
Prepared to turn a page
She used to like the rainy days
That came when she was young
She’d sit next to her window and
She’d listen to the storm
The pitter-patter sound of rain
Would soothe her anxious heart
But as she grew, the rainy days
Just left her in the dark
